Flagged for review manipulation? Amazon treats this as one of its most serious policy areas, but it can still be appealed. We show Amazon exactly what happened and prove the activity has stopped for good.
What this notice means
A review manipulation notice means Amazon believes reviews or ratings on your listings were influenced in a way its Community Guidelines and Customer Product Reviews policy do not allow.
Amazon may remove reviews, block listings, or deactivate the account, often citing Section 3 of the Business Solutions Agreement.
Any incentivized, paid, or family and friends reviews, or review swapping with other sellers, breaks Amazon’s rules.
So does asking only happy customers for reviews, offering refunds or gifts in exchange for reviews, or using services that promise ratings or rankings.
Many sellers are surprised by these notices.
A third-party tool, an agency, a past employee or even a well-meaning friend may have caused the problem. Amazon still holds the account responsible, so the appeal has to deal with it honestly.
Amazon takes review integrity very seriously because buyers rely on reviews to decide what to buy.
That is why these cases need a careful, honest appeal rather than a quick one.
What Amazon needs to see
Understand the real cause
Amazon needs to see that you understand the real cause: exactly which activity broke the review rules, on which listings and over what period. Vague statements like “we may have made mistakes” are not enough.
Find the root cause
It then needs the root cause: how the activity started. For example, a review service bought from an agency, a buyer-message template that asked only for five-star reviews, or a product insert offering a gift card for a review.
Fixes already done
Corrective actions already completed come next. These usually include canceling the service or tool involved, removing inserts and templates, ending any arrangement with friends, family or other sellers, and stopping all off-Amazon review requests.
Prevention for the future
Finally, Amazon wants preventive measures: using only Amazon-approved ways to request reviews, such as the Request a Review button, and a clear rule that no one in the business offers anything in exchange for a review.
Why first appeals get rejected
- Denying any involvement when Amazon has clear evidence of the activity.
- Blaming a tool, agency or employee without taking responsibility for the account.
- No proof that the service, tool or arrangement has been canceled.
- Leaving product inserts or message templates that still ask for reviews.
- Generic promises with no named controls for the future.
Honesty matters more in review cases than almost any other suspension type. Amazon often has detailed records of the activity, so an appeal that contradicts those records loses credibility immediately.

If you are not sure what caused the notice, send us what you have. We help you trace the activity before anything is submitted.
How we handle your case
- Free review of your notice. You send the notice and tell us what tools, services or messages you have used. We tell you honestly what is realistic.
- Trace the activity. We work out which listings and which activity Amazon is concerned about, and how it started.
- Stop it and prove it. We help you cancel services, update templates and inserts, and gather proof of every change.
- Appeal and follow-up. We write the Plan of Action, submit it through the correct channel and follow up until Amazon reviews it.
Because these cases can be deactivated under Section 3, there is little room for a second attempt. We spend most of the time on the facts before anything is written.
What we need from you
- Share the full, honest history: all notices, earlier appeals and any linked accounts.
- Send genuine documents only. Edited or fake documents end the case, and the upfront fee is not refunded.
- Reply within 3 days. After 7 days without a reply, the case is closed and the upfront fee is not refunded.
- Pay the balance within 48 hours of Amazon’s reinstatement email.
The free review covers reading your notice only. We investigate your account after the upfront fee is paid, so every hour goes to sellers who are serious about getting their account back.
Fees and timeline
This is a complex case: $200 to start and $600 only after reinstatement ($800 total). The upfront fee is non-refundable and covers our full investigation. Reading your notice is free. Timing depends on Amazon’s review queue and how quickly documents are ready.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as review manipulation on Amazon?
Incentivized, paid, family and friends reviews, review swapping, asking only happy customers for reviews, and offering anything in exchange for a review all break Amazon’s rules. Using services that promise reviews or rankings does too.
Can I appeal a review manipulation deactivation?
Yes. These cases are serious, but an honest appeal that explains exactly what happened and proves the activity has stopped can be reviewed. The free review tells you honestly where you stand.
A tool or agency did this, not me. Does that matter?
Amazon holds the account responsible, whoever carried out the activity. The appeal should explain what the tool or agency did and show the arrangement has ended.
Can I still ask buyers for reviews?
Yes, through Amazon-approved methods such as the Request a Review button, sent to all buyers equally. You cannot offer anything in return or target only happy customers.
Will Amazon restore the removed reviews?
Usually not. The focus of the appeal is getting the account or listings reinstated, not restoring reviews Amazon removed.
